What is a Disability Justice bookstore?
At Nightlight Books, we think about accessibility in multiple forms and know that many disabled folks hold intersectionaly marginalized identities.
We work first and foremost to build community where disability is understood – where the air purifier is running, a chair is ready and spoon theory doesn’t require explanation.
Our inventory of new titles are all by and about disabled, neurodivergent, chronically ill, mad, D/deaf, blind, deafblind, and otherwise identified folks. In addition to our new books, we curate a large used book selection to keep prices down and offer a pay what you can model for used kids books. We love e-books and audio as much as a hardback and we will talk for days about how we can all best work together to survive capitalism and build a better world.

Support local, not empire!
